Roof Estimator
Product Design + Web Development
Description
A homeowner finds their house on the map, traces the roofline corner by corner, picks pitch and material, and reads back an honest NZ re-roofing range — in under two minutes, without a single phone call. It's the kind of tool that turns a roofer's website from a brochure into a lead machine.

Numbers
Search, trace, pick pitch and material — an honest range in under two minutes, no form-fill wait, no sales call.
A real roof traced on the satellite in the demo — spherical-geometry area, correct to the metre on known shapes.
Long-run Coloursteel, metal tile, concrete tile and membrane — each on its own current NZ installed rate band.
Priced off this year’s installed rates incl. strip, disposal and a steep-roof loading — not a made-up slider number.
The problem
Most roofing quote tools online are a guess dressed up as a number — an AI estimate off the address and a slider, with no relationship to the actual roof. Homeowners can feel it, so they don't trust it. And a roofer who can't give a fast honest range loses the lead to whoever answers first.
The fix isn't more automation — it's honesty. Let people measure their own roof, and price it off rates that are real.
What we did
TRACE YOUR OWN ROOF
The visitor draws their actual roofline on live satellite imagery. Real spherical geometry turns those corners into a plan area — correct to the metre on known shapes, garage and sleepout traced as their own sections.
PITCH-CORRECTED SURFACE
A flat plan area under-counts a pitched roof. Pick low, standard or steep and the tool corrects the surface area properly — the number a re-roof is actually priced on.
REAL NZ RATE BANDS
Long-run Coloursteel, metal tile, concrete tile and membrane — each priced on current 2025–26 installed rates, with strip, disposal and a steep-roof loading built in. An indicative range, not a firm quote, and it says so.
A LEAD, NOT A DEAD END
Forked per roofer with their branding and a name-and-number capture before the range, it drops a warm, already-measured lead into their inbox — the visitor arrives at the conversation with the right number already in hand.
Area computed by spherical geometry from the traced outline and verified exact on known shapes; surface area is pitch-corrected (÷cos pitch, with a steep-roof loading). Ranges use published NZ 2025–26 installed rates incl. strip and disposal, and are indicative — a firm quote needs eyes on the roof. Satellite imagery © Esri, Maxar, Earthstar Geographics. The clip is a real run of the live tool.
