Room One Live
Branding + Web Development
Description
Room One Live is a live-broadcast and event production company in Auckland — sport, music, esports, for the likes of Red Bull, TVNZ, Spark and Ubisoft. We designed and built its website from scratch — held to the same standard as everything we ship.

Numbers
Lighthouse mobile, measured on the live site — a scroll-scrubbed video hero that still loads fast.
The hero image and headline are on screen in under two seconds, on a mid-range phone.
CLS of zero — nothing jumps or reflows as the page loads and the motion plays in.
Off the Framer subscription, onto fast global hosting that costs nothing to run.
The problem
A production company lives on how a broadcast feels — the polish, the timing, the sense that everything is under control. The old site couldn't say that. It sat unfinished on a Framer template that charged monthly rent, didn't move the way the work does, and told search engines almost nothing about who Room One is or what it does.
For a business whose whole pitch is "we make live look effortless", the site had to be the first proof.
What we did
A SITE THAT MOVES LIKE THE WORK
Hand-built from scratch: a scroll-scrubbed video hero, and a signature "signal path" motion — a thin blue line that patches through the page as you scroll, sections flipping from NO SIGNAL to LOCKED like a vision switcher acquiring feed. Motion that earns its place, gated behind reduced-motion so nothing is hidden if you turn it off.
THE REAL WORK, FRAMED
Eight case stories — SIX60 at Eden Park, Red Bull Flugtag, Ubisoft Forward, ASB Classic Esports and more — plus a client wall of the broadcasters and brands Room One has run rooms for. The company's own night-time arena photography, graded to one look.
FOUND, NOT JUST SEEN
Per-page titles and descriptions, a sitemap, LocalBusiness and FAQ structured data, and a homepage written so an AI can lift a clean one-line answer to "what does Room One Live do?" — the same SEO + GEO layer we build into every site.
OWNED, NOT RENTED
Off the Framer subscription onto Astro and fast global hosting at $0/month, on the company's own domain — a real codebase Room One owns rather than a template it leases.
Scores measured on the live site, 18 July 2026: Lighthouse mobile performance 97, largest contentful paint 1.8s, cumulative layout shift 0. Built in Astro with GSAP, ScrollTrigger and Lenis; deployed on Cloudflare Pages.
